About us
Call the XI before the manager does. Matchday XI is a football game for fans who think they know their club better than anyone.
What Matchday XI is
Matchday XI is a free football prediction game. Before every match, you pick the eleven players you think your club will start. When the official team sheet comes out, you score 10 points for every starter you called, and a 25 point bonus if you get all eleven: a Perfect XI. There's also a daily football trivia quiz, leaderboards for every club and private leagues to play with friends. See how to play.
Who we are
Matchday XI was founded in 2026 by Chinedu Onyia in Nigeria, on a simple belief: football fans everywhere know their clubs inside out, and that knowledge deserves a stage. In Lagos, London, Buenos Aires and everywhere in between, every matchday starts the same way, with fans debating who should start. Matchday XI turns that debate into a game. Our ambition is to make it the home of every fan who thinks they know their club best. It covers Europe's five biggest leagues (the Premier League, LaLiga, Serie A, the Bundesliga and Ligue 1), their domestic cups and the three European club competitions, and international football is on the way.
Why we built it
Every fan has an opinion on who should start. We wanted a game that rewards actually knowing your club: its squad, its manager's habits, the injuries and the rotation. No luck draws, no betting, just the joy of calling the team sheet before the manager does.
Free and fair
Matchday XI is free to play and always will be for the core game. No money changes hands in the game or in private leagues. Any prizes are funded by sponsors and won on skill, never by random draw. We look out for duplicate accounts so the leaderboards stay fair, and players must be 18 or over.
Where the football data comes from
Fixtures, squads and league tables come from football data providers and are updated through the day, and every prediction is scored against the clubs' official team sheets. Matchday XI is an independent game and isn't affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any league, club or player. Club and competition names belong to their owners and are used only to identify them.
